Submit a Public Service Announcement (PSA)

Show off your filmmaking skills and help save lives in San Diego. Revive & Survive San Diego is looking for creative college students to produce a Public Service Announcement (PSA) that educates our community on critical emergency response skills.

Scholarship Awards

  • 1st place: $2,500 Scholarship, spotlight and formal recognition
  • 2nd place: $1,500 scholarship and formal recognition
  • 3rd place: $1,000 scholarship and formal recognition

Eligibility Requirements

  • You must be a current undergraduate or graduate student at a college in San Diego County.
  • Applicants must be 18 years or older.
  • You can enter as an individual or a group (like a club or department).
  • Only one submission is allowed per person or group.

Video Guidelines

To be eligible for a scholarship, your PSA must meet the following criteria:

  • Length: Between 30 seconds and 2 minutes (Pro-tip: shorter, punchy content usually shares best!)
  • Required Content: You must mention Revive & Survive San Diego and explain or feature three key elements: Bystander CPR, AED use and the PulsePoint App.
  • Local Focus: Your video must include a clear reference to San Diego or San Diego County.
  • Format: Provide a URL to your video (e.g., Youtube or Vimeo) and ensure the settings are public or unlisted.

Become an American Red Cross Hands-Only CPR Presenter

Every year, more than 350,000 cardiac arrests happen outside of hospitals. Bystander CPR can double or even triple a victim’s chances of survival. 

This free, one-hour course from the American Red Cross prepares you to lead hands-only CPR training sessions—no prior CPR experience or medical background is necessary. You will learn how to perform and instruct high-quality technique and provide helpful, real-time feedback to learners.

  • Eligibility: Open to anyone 16 years of age or older.
  • Format: Offered in-person or virtually.
  • Language: Available in both English and Spanish.

Lead the way in your community. Get certified to teach hands-only CPR and help us reach our goal of training 1 million San Diegans.

Join our movement to train 1 million San Diegans in hands-only CPR. Whether you are a healthcare professional, a student, or a motivated community member, your time can help save lives across San Diego County.

How You Can Help:

  • Event Support: Assist our training partners at local health fairs, school training days, and community events. If you are already a certified CPR trainer, help us guide community members through high-quality chest compressions and essential emergency response skills.
  • Outreach and Advocacy: Help us spread the word about the importance of bystander CPR and AEDs in your own neighborhood or organization.
  • Special Projects: Use your unique skills in social media, photography, or organizing to support our mission of reaching every corner of the county.
